Join Margaret O'Brien for poetry, prose and conversations with old friends and new. We are looking forward to seeing you in the tearoom at 8pm. The fee is €5 to cover costs. Newcomers are always welcome.
 

We are back in person for February and hosting two very special guests at Poetry Plus this month - writers Anna O'Laoghaire and Annette Condon. Their contribution promises to be very interesting and will be followed by our usual open mic.

After 10 years of spiralling into addiction in London, Rona (an extraordinary Saoirse Ronan) returns home to the Orkney Islands, hoping to maintain her recovery. Attempting to reconcile her complex family history as well as her destructive past behaviours, she takes a job with a wildlife conservation charity - allowing her to connect with the nature of her childhood home.

The Spring Drama Workshops are underway...

Classes run for 9 Mondays with a show on the 10th night.

The cost is €60.00 for the 10 sessions (payable in advance) and classes will be at 6pm for the younger group and 7pm for the older group.

Hannah White started picking up instruments at an early age. She ended up playing guitar more than the other instruments because of how portable it was and great to write with. White remains passionately committed to the idea of music as a force for good, and it's that down-to-earth sincerity that is stamped on Hannah's personality just as it is on her music. When people talk about her songs, they talk about her combination of autobiographical honesty, social conscience and joyful musicality, and that conversation is getting louder all the time.

She will be performing with husband Keiron Marshall.
